Chorus Service Person of the Year Awards

The Downer New Zealand Technology Solutions divison have been recognised with six wins and at the Chorus Service Person of the Year #SPOTY awards.

Four of our people took home the top prizes out of the 11 main categories:

• Field Safety: Mark McKeown, Build Team, Dunedin
• Quality Standard: Peter Thorpe, Integrated Facilities Management Team, Hamilton
• Consistent Delivery: Duley Taiapa, M&P Team, Gisborne
• Technician of the Year: Lee Moresi, M&P Team, Wellington

Service Technician Lee Moresi also won the Downer Service Person of the Year award for his technical excellence, deep commitment to customer service and positive support and coaching of other Downer Service Technicians.

General Manager of Operations and Maintenance Jude Viliua and her team received a special award named after Cyril Bassett, a legendary New Zealand recipient of the Victoria Cross, for Downer’s contribution and collaboration with Broadspectrum on the Kaikoura Earthquake Response team.

Quality Improvement Team Operational Lead Grant Jackson received a special commendation in the Network Performance category.
