'Young at Heart' youth employer award

Downer New Zealand has been recognised for its commitment to employing and developing young Aucklanders.

The award was handed out at the annual ‘Young at Heart’ Youth Employer Pledge Awards, where Downer won the award for our youth employment programmes.

We view our young people as potential future leaders and ensure we focus on development at all levels of the business, ranging from school work experience to post graduate study at university.

This significant investment, variety and quality of our programmes is a demonstration of the commitment by our senior leaders to develop and foster career progression for our people - and is something that is backed by everyone who works at Downer.

The Young at Heart Awards recognise the efforts of businesses like Downer that have signed the Auckland Council’s Youth Employer Pledge and are making a commitment to employ Auckland’s young talent to grow their workforce and business.
