Strong governance underpins Downer’s commitment to sustainability. We recognise that trust, transparency and integrity are essential to minimising harm to the environment and the communities in which we operate. Our governance framework is supported by corporate policies, Board oversight and compliance systems that ensure our people act ethically, meet regulatory obligations and align with stakeholder expectations. We engage with regulators and industry bodies to stay ahead of emerging standards, while our Standards of Business Conduct and whistleblower protections reinforce a culture of honesty and accountability. This approach strengthens our sustainability performance and builds confidence with all stakeholders.
The Downer Board has oversight of sustainability (including climate change) across the Group and is supported by a number of dedicated committees that assist in effectively executing its responsibilities. Further detail on the composition and purpose of each Board committee is provided in Downer’s Corporate Governance Statement within the Annual Reports.
