As a trusted Head Contractor to the South Australian Housing Trust, we share the SA Government’s commitment to ensuring every South Australian is safe and secure in a place they call home. Since taking over the contract in January 2023, we have identified a range of opportunities to improve maintenance outcomes, and continue to work collaboratively with the Trust to implement changes that will enhance services for the benefit of tenants.

Key contracts and projects
Royal Adelaide Hospital
An integral partner in Australia’s largest PPP, keeping new Royal Adelaide Hospital – the biggest health precinct in the Southern Hemisphere – operating seamlessly for optimum patient outcomes. Around 700 staff deliver 15 essential services to support the hospital around the clock. This includes meals, linen services, security, HVAC, cleaning and orderly services.
Project EnergyConnect
Delivered the South Australian component of the nation-building Project EnergyConnect, constructing a 206km high voltage transmission line connection between the South Australian and New South Wales power grid on behalf of our customer, ElectraNet.
SA Housing Trust
Providing maintenance services across the SA Housing Trust social housing portfolio in the Adelaide metropolitan area – delivering reactive maintenance, vacant restoration and minor works projects to 27,000 social and public housing dwellings
Road maintenance
Delivering asset management, routine and planned maintenance services, as well as minor works projects to more than 8,600km of sealed and unsealed roads
Woomera Redevelopment Program
Downer is part of the joint venture delivering the Australian Defence Force’s Woomera Redevelopment Program.
Santos Moomba CCUS
Proudly partnered with our customer, Santos, to deliver the Moomba Carbon Capture and Storage facility, one of the largest facilities of its kind in the world.
Gas and communications
Providing a range of services to gas and communications customers across the State, including private and public owners for retail, distribution, capital works, gas mains renewal and construction, and preventative and reactive maintenance of assets. Downer has also installed the infrastructure to enable over 20,000 households to connect to the nbn.
