Ōpaoa Bridge wins 2021 Engineering NZ Heritage Award

Congratulations to our Transport team who delivered the New Ōpaoa Bridge In Blenheim, who have won the 2021 Engineering NZ Heritage Award.

An award which celebrates innovative heritage projects that have delivered value to a community, iwi, organisation, environment, education, or general New Zealand society. And this project ticks all of those boxes – delivering two bridges (retaining and renewing the historic bridge and building the new one) that combine safety and strength, offer wide use and relevance for communities today and into the future, represent mana whenua of Wairau, and celebrate heritage values. This is an excellent result, congratulations to the team!
