As an experienced provider of electronic systems, we supply, install and maintain a range of technology based systems. These include electronic signage, variable message signs (VMS), surveillance/red light cameras, ramp signals, traffic signals, traffic counters, lane control signals, vehicle occupancy systems, weigh in motion systems and more.

Our capability covers: electronic signage, CCTV, traffic signals and communications. Downer has supplied, installed and maintained several hundred different types of electronic signage from full size motorway VMS, traffic signals, through to school warning signs.

ITS system design & integration

Through our many years of operation in the ITS field, Downer are called upon to offer expert advice in ITS design. ther installation companies have contracted us to provide constructability reviews and employed as integration specialists to ensure right first-time deliveries. We have delivered five out of the last seven large scale ITS projects in New Zealand and we are the preferred ITS contractor for Waka Kotahi - Transport Agency in Wellington and Dunedin for the State Highway systems. In addition to field-based ITS work, we are heavily involved in asset management strategies designed to prolong asset life and identity the appropriate intervention point to ensure continual service delivery.
