Waste reduction and repurposing

Understanding the type and quantities of waste material we encounter by doing business means we can effectively look at how to reduce our waste and redirect good materials for reuse in our communities.

We minimise the environmental impact of our by:

• Minimising waste to landfill by using recycled materials in asphalt production and converting off-specification emulsion to bitumen.
• Actively seek out uses for asphalt millings to support our local communities such as using it to pave recreational activity car parks and farm tracks
• Developing a waste management strategy across our facilities business to understand our waste and then establishing an action plan to reduce the waste generated, or reuse/repurpose the material to eliminate it from the waste stream
• Identifying waste managed by our transport business and examining options for reuse and repurposing.
